I admire the spare way in which you have linked geography, the flow of time, myth, and current events in these poems. You shock us into recognition by contrasting images of divinity—God acting through Mother Theresa as opposed to the Nationalist canonization of former rulers in Japan—causing readers to question what and how they worship, and how this worship shapes our lives as instruments of war or peace.
